Frequently Asked Questions

The Work

What is the core approach?

My work is ecological and structural. Whether through Ayurvedic consultation or hands-on bodywork, I read the body as a living terrain — not a collection of parts to be corrected, but a whole system interacting with its environment. We identify the pattern beneath the symptoms, and we build an approach rooted in your daily rhythms: how you eat, sleep, move, and rest. The goal is not to override what the body is doing. It is to understand why it’s doing it and to change the conditions.

What’s the difference between the Ayurvedic consultation and the bodywork?

Two registers of the same inquiry. The Ayurvedic consultation is remote — we work with your constitutional pattern, your diet, your lifestyle, your herbal support. It unfolds over multiple sessions and is available now from anywhere. The bodywork is hands-on, in-person in Montréal, and works directly with the tissue, the nervous system, and the body’s relationship to gravity. Some people do both. Some do one. It depends on what you need and where you are.

Do I need a diagnosis to work with you?

No. Some people come with a detailed medical file. Others come with the felt sense that something has shifted and they can’t name it. Both are valid starting points. What matters is not the label but the pattern — and your willingness to participate in reading it.

Is this a replacement for my doctor?

No. I do not diagnose, prescribe pharmaceuticals, or manage acute medical conditions. I work at the layer your medical team may not have time to address — your daily rhythms, your digestion, your sleep, your capacity for change. This is complementary care. It works best alongside your existing medical support, not instead of it.

Ayurvedic Consultation

What happens in the first session?

Before we meet, you complete a detailed intake form covering your history, daily life, diet, digestion, sleep, medications, emotional terrain, and a tongue photo. I review everything before our session. The first consultation is ninety minutes. We go through your terrain together — I’m reading the pattern beneath the symptoms, identifying constitutional tendencies and current imbalances. You leave with an initial set of dietary and lifestyle recommendations and a clear sense of what we’re working with.

What happens after that?

Follow-up sessions track how your body responds to the changes. We adjust protocols, refine herbal support, recalibrate as seasons and conditions shift. The work is iterative. Some things move quickly. Deeper patterns — particularly in autoimmune conditions — require longer observation. The body has its own pace.

I have an autoimmune condition. How does this help?

Ayurveda reads autoimmune conditions as a disruption in the body’s capacity to transform what it encounters — food, experience, stress, seasonal change. Rather than targeting the immune response directly, we work with the terrain the condition inhabits: strengthening digestive capacity, reducing accumulated metabolic load, supporting the body’s own rhythms of repair. This is not a cure narrative. It is sustained accompaniment through a condition that cycles, with the aim of extending remission and building resilience over time.

Can we work together if I’m on medication?

Yes. I need to know everything you’re taking — prescription, over-the-counter, supplemental, recreational — to work safely. The intake form covers this in detail. Herbal recommendations are always made with your current medications in mind, and I will never ask you to stop taking something your doctor has prescribed.

How often should I schedule sessions?

That depends on your situation and pace. In the early stages, every two to three weeks gives us enough time to observe how changes land without losing momentum. As the work matures, monthly or seasonal check-ins are often sufficient. The package structures reflect these different rhythms.

Bodywork (Montréal, In-Person)

Currently paused — reopens May 2026.

How is this different from a spa massage?

This is not relaxation in the conventional sense. It is structural, collaborative, and slow. I integrate tui na (Chinese osteopathy), craniosacral therapy, and somatic education. We follow the body’s own impulses rather than imposing a sequence. You wear comfortable clothing. The work often involves movement, limb rotation, and extended periods of stillness while the nervous system reorganizes. People leave feeling different in how they carry their own weight — not just “relaxed” but rearranged.

Is it painful?

Some techniques generate intensity as we contact old holding patterns in the tissue. This is always within your window of tolerance. We work with the body’s resistance, never against it. If the body says no, we listen. That boundary is protecting something, and we respect it.

What should I wear?

Loose, comfortable clothing — anything that allows for breath and range of motion. This is not oil-based table work. You are clothed throughout.
